BEAU . . . GETTING A NEW HOME!  YIPPPPEEEEEEEEEE!

Beau must be a very lucky guy, waiting for so long to find the right home (and so many "almost" adoptions that kept falling through) . . . guess what?  He worked his magic on two very nice girls named Wendy & Alison.  They met at the Best Friends Adoption Event in Westchester (yesterday, 6/4) and it was love at first site!beauatbestfriends.jpg

Beau is going to get to see his new home on Friday and we are all very excited to see him find his "meant to be" people!  Thank you to Alison & Wendy for opening up your hearts and your home to the much deserving Beau.  He has been through so much transition since last year and he is going to be so happy to finally have a place to call his own.

Beau finally finished his heartworm treatment (he had his first shot in January, and then his second back-to-back shots in March) - and he just got neutered last week which is going to make such a huge difference for him in the long run.  He never quite understood why male dogs were always trying to attack him and in a few months, once his testosterone levels decrease, he is going to have a much more positive experience when he meets other males.  I look forward to hearing about how Beau does and whenever I get new pictures, I will update them here, for all of you who are still following his story!

The very good-looking Beau is still without a home!  317541-274237-thumbnail.jpgHe has been on TV twice (Beau's TV appearance #1) and many people have called about him and some even came close to adopting him.  What seems to be happening is that people reconsider once they talk to their own vets, because Beau is still undergoing treatment for his heartworm.  (Beau's TV appearance #2) He is SUCH a good dog and really deserving of someone to love him and give him a forever home.  He could be heartworm free as early as April or May.  My vet says he has a mild case of heartworm since he has not shown any of the clinical signs of the disease.  Beau has had one heartworm shot last month and is just about ready to go back for two more heartworm shots.  317541-274236-thumbnail.jpg
Is there someone out there to love me?
Then after four to six more weeks of rest and relaxation, he will get tested one more time and we are hopeful that he will be heartworm free (yippeee!).  Then lastly, we will get him neutered (and he should be okay to mix with other males after that).
